Treasures through Six Generations: Chinese Painting and Calligraphy from the Weng Collection
Now on view at the Huntington is one of the greatest private collections of Chinese art in the nation. It's an exhibition of Chinese painting and calligraphy works spanning 900 years and will be on view April 11 through July 13 in the MaryLou and George Boone Gallery. The presentation will feature 41 masterworks from the Weng collection. The collection was the focus of a recent exhibition at the Beijing World Art Museum and is revered in China as well as in the United States.

Chinese Garden Lecture
The Art and Aesthetics of Flora: Traditional Gardens in Shanghai

Traditional Chinese Flower Arranging Series
May 6, 7, 8 (Wednesday‐Friday) 9 a.m.noon
Chinese flower arranging is a classical art. Learn all about it in a three-day workshop led by Rosa Zee of the Chinese Floral Foundation and a group of master instructors from Taiwan. Chinese Brush Painting

Erhu Performance
May 21 (Thursday) 7 p.m.
Renowned erhu virtuoso Karen Hwa-Chee Han will present a performance on this ancient Chinese, two-stringed instrument. Han is a concert soloist who performs worldwide. She has collaborated with the Paris Opera Orchestra, the New York Pops Orchestra, and the London Royal Philharmonic. She has also performed on soundtracks for more than 100 movies and television series, including “The Last Emperor,” “The Joy Luck Club,” and “Memoirs of a Geisha.” Members: $25. Non-Members: $35. A Taste of Art: China Through the Five Senses

A cooking class led by chef and art educator Maite Gomez-Rejon who will bring together the culture and cuisine of China.
