Fun With Friends at the 2010 FCC-SoCal Summer Picnic

FCC-SoCal

Friends at the summer picnicThis year's FCC-SoCal/OCA summer picnic on June 5th rejoined old and new friends alike at an unique park in the city of San Gabriel, in western San Gabriel Valley. We picnicked directly adjacent to Dinosaur Park, an artistic treasure nestled in the quiet corner of Victor Lugo Park. The event was well attended by over fifteen families, and offered opportunities for enjoying delicious food (Hawaiian theme!) and warm conversation. Many members met the new FCC board members for the first time.

Fun at the Picnic

FCC-SoCal

The FCC-Socal annual summer picnic took place Saturday, June 13th and was a great success despite a light shower early in the day. The event took place in Alhambra at the Picnic Pavilion of the Almansor Park. We were joined by friends from OCA and graced with the presence of the Miss Chinatown 2009 Court.

There were a lot of games and activities for the kids. The donut eating contest made for some great pictures. Other games included a water balloon toss and a tug-o-war. Activities included arts and crafts, tatoos, and frisbee. The food that everyone brought was plentiful and delicious.

Summer Kick-Off Family Picnic

Each June, FCC-SoCal celebrates the end of another school year and kicks off the summer with its annual picnic.  The tradition began several years ago when the Greater Los Angeles chapter of the Organization of Chinese Americans invited FCC families to join in their annual event, held in the San Gabriel Valley.  In 2009, FCC-SoCal assumed the lead host role.
